Apparently we are officially the third fattest nation on the planet. Our obesity rate is 26.5% of the population (Mexico is 30% and the US 34.3%). Some interesting new research shows that increasing exercise regimes at school results in no overall increase in expenditure of energy in children. Essentially, it seems that increasing school activities just reduces the after-school energy levels of children, so that they do less than they already do.
