Labtest Conspiracy

I know that some of my readers consider I have gone off the deep end because of my support for the “evil” Labtests. I defend myself in the comments of “Doctors 1, Labtests 0″

Although it may seem that way, I don’t carry a torch for Labtests and thought that the move to Labtests was marginally dumb and unlikely to result in any real savings. I find myself taking a pro-Labtest position simply because the actions of DML management were the actions of unethical toads.

DML had every right to pursue legal avenues until these were exhausted. At that point , they should have conceded defeat and arranged an orderly transfer of the business over to Labtests, including encouraging staff to go and work for them, allowing access to their databases and possibly offering a more staggered handover.

Instead they became obstructive and waged a pointless war in the media seriously damaging Labtests reputation before they had even started. Their dog-in-the-manger attitude with their databases has resulted in most of Labtests “wrong patient, wrong doctor” errors and their poisoning of their staff has resulted in Labtests being forced to employ inexperienced staff, resulting in many delays.

DML had better hope that Labtests does not “fall over”, because the resulting legal action will be very, very messy.”

Perhaps a slightly conspiratorial reply. However, it has nothing on this comment on the Herald’s website in response to the question “Is the switch from Diagnostic Medlab to Labtests Auckland working out?

The whole issue is extremely dodgy. I know for a fact that the ruling elite instituting the imminent one world government intentionally released the obviously lab-made swine flu, were behind 911 (now proven to be an inside job) and the immensely suspicious and no doubt intentional release of the deadly Hendra virus in Australia. The sinister mass vaccination programs against Swine flu in the western countries are an obvious attempt to spread the virus and accelerate more deadly mutations. They want this in order to scare the population into letting them grant themselves sweeping laws of quarantine and martial law, depopulation is also part of the plan. They also need to commandeer the health system to ensure adherence to this evil plot, so they need to install a company that will achieve this, the sacking of the CEO of Labtests shows that he wasn’t happy with something that’s going on. No doubt they will blame countless deaths, infections and mixups on a substandard system as opposed to being part of their New World Order plan.

  • LMFAO – that’s hilarious.

The comments are like a meeting of Hypochondriac’s Anonymous come National Front (“those nice old ladies who did my bloods every week have been replaced with non-Queen’s English speakers so I can’t have a nice chat about the weather”). I can picture Hooton and Arthur Morris in a room together right now praying for some oldie to roll over so they can blame the blood tests.

I’ve never thought so many people in Auckland were that sick that they relied on blood testing. Funny that, every person seems to have had a blood test in the past month. Perhaps because it is free or heavily subsidised.

Your attitude is precisely mine. It doesn’t matter as to the arguments for or against any provider – a court ruled it was all over and at that point I joined the debate. Taxpayers and the patients will be the ones to pay for any failure, hence DML is best to get out of the way and let the new guys in.

Any obstruction will only end up costing the taxpayer. The legal action would be enormous. Which is why the DHB and Minister are now stepping in. They have to.

  • C’mon everybody – rally round and send a piece of tinfoil so Mary can make a new hat!

  • Do they make meds strong enough to assist Mary?

  • Well, well, here’s Cactus Kate and Macdoctor huddling together for moral support in their lonely Labtests flag waving campaign.

Frankly the reasons you both put forward for your stance seem weak to say the least. Leading up to this transfer there seemed endless statements from Labtests and the DHBs that the whole thing was going astonishingly well and going to be an astounding success with hundreds more hip operations resulting. They boasted that they’d tested all their systems and everything was perfect. So it’s a bit rich for people to trot out the “DML being obstructive” excuse only after it’s been shown to be a fiasco. Surely the implementation should have been put on hold until anything like that had been sorted out, by legal means if necessary.

The excuse about the database of doctors is particularly pathetic. Surely it’s pretty basic to actually get out there and find out who your customers are. If the database was so important why no noise about it before they started? I can’t believe that you’ve fallen for them blaming DML for their own lack of legwork.

And DML are unethical because they didn’t recommend their staff go to Labtests? Are you serious? I would have only thought it ethical to recommend staff go to another employer if you have confidence in that employer. But in any case it’s hard to believe that would have made any difference. DML’s staff can hardly have been unaware there was a new employer in town and presumably made their own decisions based on their own priorities. You seem to extend to Morris and his colleagues extraordinary powers of persuasion, but obviously those powers did not work with the DHBs! At least you have partial insight that you’ve got a bit conspiratorial, unlike Kate who seems to think the whole thing has been drummed up by some PR company.

  • “At that point, they [DML] should have conceded defeat and arranged an orderly transfer of the business over to Labtests, including encouraging staff to go and work for them, allowing access to their databases and possibly offering a more staggered handover.”

You ARE joking, right? Do you understand what sort of privacy law violation would be involved with an employer handing over the personal details of their employees to another company? Not to mention that I would be absolutely livid if I were getting unwelcome harassing phone calls because my employer had done this — no doubt many DML employees would feel the same. And since DML had doubts about Labtests’ viability as a company (which, it is now clear, they were well justified in having), it would be completely unethical for them to have encouraged their employees to go work for Labtests.

Labtests’ recruitment efforts have been widely publicised, on their website, in the media, and on Seek, TradeMe and industry job sites. DML employees who wished to go work for Labtests were easily able to find out what jobs were available, and how to apply for them. Suggesting that DML should give their details to Labtests so that the new company could bully them into accepting employment is just ludicrous.

Labtests made a HUGE production many months ago (including a fancy press release) about how they were providing detailed information forms to GPs and clinics to complete, which would be used to create their physician/clinic database. So where is that database? Why are Labtests blaming DML for their own failure to perform? Why are YOU expecting DML to hand over proprietary and privacy-protected databases, instead of holding Labtests accountable for not doing their job?

Labtests has been swearing up one side and down the other for 3 years that they would be able to fulfill their contract without the use of employee or facility resources belonging to DML. It is obvious now that they were either EXTREMELY over-confident of their abilities — or just plain lying to the DHB and to Aucklanders.

As far as the “staggered handover”, that wasn’t DML’s decision to make. It was the DHB’s — and they need to take full responsibility, not only for the ill-considered awarding of this contract to a non-existent company, but for the completely bollixed-up way it has been implemented.

  • Actually I tip my hats to the criminal masterminds at ADHB, they wanted to make savings (whether legitimate or not) in testing costs and have managed (with a bit of help from DML) to get labtests to take the blame for their funding decisions. Well played.

Listen carefully because this is the cause. MSG. When ingested by human test subjects MSG directly affects the Pancreas stimulating it to triple its standard output of insulin output. This unnatural amount of insulin finds the sugar in the blood and converts it to fat. A few hours after you eat MSG the excess insulin the MSG triggers reduces your blood sugar level so much that you become tired and even hungry again. In animal test subjects this excess insulin leads to hyperinsulinemia: the chronic overproduction of insulin. The pancreas becomes so out of control that the body starts producing killer T cells to shut it down. Is it any wonder why diabetes, obesity and lethargy in our youths are at an all time high? Junk foods, processed foods, even cafeteria foods are now laced with large amounts of exitotoxic glutamates. The government does nothing because they receive alot of money from the MSG industry, they’re knowingly poisoning us, and our children and this is why people are obese!
