Sick Food

Orthorexia nervosa: Obsession with righteous eating.

“They commonly have rigid rules about eating. Refusing to touch sugar, salt, caffeine, alcohol, wheat, gluten, yeast, soya, corn and dairy foods is just the start of their dietary restrictions. Any foods that have come into contact with pesticides, herbicides or contain artificial additives are also out.

“The obsession about which foods are “good” and “bad” means orthorexics can end up malnourished.”

The MacDoctor wishes to state for the record that he does not have this disease.

He also wonders if this disease is more prevalent amongst the Greens.

More research in this field is necessary.

  • The Greens are what they eat. Fruitcakes and nutbars.

    (Yes, I know I posted that one over at Farrar’s place the other day but as one liners go, I’m quite fond of it.)
