30 Songs

Not PC has a fun tag to list the first 30 shuffled songs on your MP3 player. The instructions are:

1. Turn on whatever MP3 player you possess.
2. Go to SHUFFLE songs mode.
3. Write down the first 30 songs or more that come up–song title and artist.
4. NO editing/cheating, please. Write them order.
5. Choose 25 (or so) people to be tagged…or not.

So the MacDoctor iPod reveals:

Folsom Prison Blues Johnny Cash
No Idea Just Ginger
Holy is your name Bebo Norman
The Life A Dream too Late
No Quarter Led Zeppelin
Illegal Alien Genesis
Hearts Yes
Slow Fade Casting Crowns
Right Here Jeremy Camp
Advice for the Young at Heart Tears For Fears

I did warn you in another tag that I had eclectic tastes in music. Oh, and my entire classical collection is rigged not to shuffle, so does not show up in this selection. I won’t be tagging anyone, but feel free to try it yourself…

  • That’s a very eclectic collection MacDoc. I’m disappointed though that there’s no Third Day songs there – do I need to send you some CD’s?

Relax, I2. I have ALL the Third Day albums. None of their songs came in the first 30 random shuffle. But as I have 4614 songs on my iPod, that is probably just statistics for you…

  • There’s a couple there that I have somewhere. Several I’ll have to investigate.

I don’t think my King Crimson survived the move from tape to CD though. Right now I’m listening to the soundtrack from Bubba Ho-Tep, and have Single Gun Theory queued.

I regularly use “21st Century Schizoid Man” as a good head-banging de-stressor. It saves on furniture…

  • I hope no one tags me. When I first went to work for Sanitarium back in June 06 they had made a profit so they bought every staff member in the office an Ipod. I’d started after the close of the financial year in question but nevertheless they gave me one too.

Here comes the embarrassing bit as to why I hope I am not tagged.

My list of 30 would be as follows:

You see, I have never put a single item on my Ipod. I know, I know, a free Ipod and I never used it. So wrong.

In my defence, my computer gets some error when it tries to install the relevant Itunes program and nothing I can do will make it work.

That has to be the saddest story I have ever heard, Madeleine. It is undoubtably some evil ploy by Bill Gates that you can’t get iTunes to work. My only suggestion is that you go right now and buy yourself a Mac. :-)

  • Ok- I’ve made my list

Not one of my bands matches any of yours though :)

I do have your Bic Runga and your Pink Floyd songs, and I know most of the others. But you are right about #22 – never heard of it. 8-)

  • Ah well, #22 is a rare gem from the late 70s UK Punk scene. The band (Drug Addix) didn’t last long.

    Few drug addicts do…

  • Aah yes, you’ve put your finger on the button so to speak.
They lasted long enough to make 2 albums anyway.
