Tuku Morgan voices his opinion that:
The Government’s denial of Maori representation on the Auckland Super City Council is a stark sign of the lowly status accorded to Maori in New Zealand.
It strike me that one could view this the other way round as well – that National and Act think well enough of Maori that [...]

Ian Powell, executive director of the Association of Salaried Medical Specialists, is complaining that Tony Ryall has a privatisation agenda because he has removed the requirements of DHBs to use public services unless the private service is superior and he has also removed the need to consult frontline personnel.
Firstly, let me say that the headline “Doctors [...]

I have been following the DML/Labtests saga with interest. The media now seem to be fixated on the blood collection waiting times as if this is something other than a minor inconvenience. The DHBs have performance targets in place for waiting times and I’m certain that Labtests, once they have ironed out their initial, inevitable [...]

I don’t like thuggery. I blogged my disapproval of the idiots who picketed John Key’s personal residence and today I voice my distaste for those thugs that are sending death threats to Sue Bradford. This is a pathetic and cowardly thing to do. I don’t like Bradford’s ideology and think her politics are very dangerous, [...]

I am feeling fine and still hope to be here for many years delivering your MacDoctor [...]

At least the medical insurance companies have assessed the risk of the swine flu vaccine properly. The Sydney Morning Herald reports that they are refusing to extend insurance to doctors who give the swine flu jab. Clearly, they think that the vaccine, which is being fast-tracked with only the bare minimum of clinical safety trials, [...]

So now it is official. John Key has said that National will not support John Boscawen’s bill, not even to select committee. He has even said that he will not allow it to be a conscience vote, so he is taking no chances. That is, effectively, that. Parents who smack will remain criminals and will [...]

There is a statistical formula for love:
Mathematician Clio Cresswell says that singles can increase their chances of finding true love by rejecting at least 12 potential partners before settling down.
Now I know this is just a bit of fun, but in the interests of the nerds who will now assume that you have to reject [...]
