Spot the Criminal
Prima Facie evidence that Americans are insane.

This is Bernie Madoff. He stole $50 billion dollars in a Ponzi scheme. If you stacked $50 billion dollar bills one on top of the other it would stretch about 5,461 Km, or a little further than Auckland to Perth. He got 150 years in prison for this. |
| This is president Obama. He is expanding the national debt of the US by more than a trillion dollars this year. The national debt of the US currently stands at $5.3 trillion. If you stacked dollar bills one on top of the other, that would rise to the mind-boggling height of 578,866 Km, or around the moon and about halfway back. Give him another year or two and you should be able to land safely back on earth on your tax dollars.
This man is apparently not going to jail. Strangely, he seems to be getting the American people to pay back this debt. It should take them about 150 years. |

is there any way to make your word verification scheme simpler? I can typically only read one of the two words.

Switch to Firefox or Safari and the problem will go away. Older versions of opera and IE have lousy rendering engines. You could just try guessing, Re-captcha is very forgiving.

Never before has the phrase ‘a fool and his money are soon parted’ been more apt.
With the former character, the people let greed (a higher return on their investment than what any savvy investor knew would be likely) dictate their decision making; and with the latter, the people blindly followed an unmarked road of hope and change whilst being lead by an unknown entity (although they knew that he belongs to the ‘tax and spend’ coalition) and without giving thought to the cost (social and monetary) of such an expedition.
In both cases the ‘investors’ will only get back a fraction of their dollar invested.
