Ding Dong the Pitch is Dead…

guilt-upon-accusation-x300

The unbelievably stupid Section 92a “Guilt upon Accusation” law is dead. National have just announced that the section has been abandoned pending a full review. Congratulations to all who lead and participated in the protests against it.

The Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ) has failed to make its pitch towards forcing ISPs to do its dirty work. Perhaps they will now concentrate on true copyright pirates, the kind that make thousands of copies of Sione’s Wedding and sell them as the genuine article.

Alternatively, they could just start suing 12-year-old girls like their counterpart in the US.
